Why you need to ignore people in school.

I talked with someone from my college about transferring to Montclair. Believe it or not, I was calm and collected during our conversation. It was after the fact that I got annoyed but began laughing.

The sentences in “bold quotations marks” are what he said, granted not exactly. The other sentences are what I was thinking but refrained from saying because the manners in me held me back. Enjoy!

I told him I will be taking the train to Montclair because my car is unreliable. “Well, that’ll be expensive.” Please explain how ANY alternative would be less than $150 a month.

“The drive to William Patterson is about 30 minutes from CCM.” What part of ‘I have an unreliable car’ did you not understand.

“Montclair is very picky about the classes that they allow to transfer. Let me see if you have any that don’t…Checks…Oh, well, you don’t.” I know.

“So, here’s the application for William Patterson.” Okay, there’s no way you confused the word ‘Montclair’ with ‘William Patterson’ so, wtf?

“Well, since you have no definitive reason to go to Montclair you should look at other schools.” Since I no longer have a definitive reason to speak to you, I guess we’re done.

“You may find that your miserable at Montclair and then you’ll be stuck there, hahah.” An optimistic person can find light, but I guess you haven’t figured that out yet.

“I do not even invite Montclair here because they are difficult to deal with.” I would not have invited MYSELF here if I knew how difficult YOU were to deal with.

“Ramapo and William Patterson waive the application fee if you meet them here at CCM.” That’s nice but if you listened to me there’d only be one application fee I would want waived, and it’s at Montclair.

“So, let’s schedule a meet and great with Ramapo and William Patterson.” Why not? It’ll only be a waste of time which I’ll never get back.

Unfortunately, there are people like this at every school. If you are determined, which you are, you will get past the oddness and negativity of such people. They are unhappy with their own lives and try to make other people feel the same
.
